Service Description

Ever wondered about School Support Dogs? These extraordinary companions bring emotional support, companionship, and overall well-being to students in NSW schools. What Sets Them Apart School Support Dogs, whether owned by a NSW Department of Education staff member or an external individual, play a vital role in enhancing interactions within the school community. Key Attributes Each School Support Dog undergoes careful assessment, ensuring they possess the right temperament and training for success in their crucial role. The Process Unveiled 1. Pre-Assessment (You Are Here Now) Embark on the journey by having your dog assessed for School Support Dog suitability. If we think your dog is suitable, you will receive a recommendation letter for school submission. This assessment takes 30-40 min. 2. Training & Assessment: Let us guide you in training your dog to become a School Support Dog for entry into NSW schools. Opt for face-to-face training at our Kotara home office or request on-site sessions for an additional fee. 3. School Visit: Once fully trained, we will then do an annual school visit where we will conduct a psychological and emotional health check on your School Support Dog. Expanding Beyond Schools: Interested in training your dog as a therapy dog for broader applications? Reach out to us via our contact page, and we'll help you navigate that path. Flexible Learning Options: Access our lessons either face-to-face at our home office in Kotara or conveniently through online Zoom/Teams sessions. You can also request on-site sessions for an additional fee. Empower your dog to make a positive impact in the school community. Start the journey with our School Support Dog Training.
